CCEG Privacy Statement

The protection of the privacy rights and demands of each member of this group is the number one priority of your CCEG Manager. Although a few individual members may not totally agree, this particular policy is the group's strength ... the glue that holds us together, if you will. Only the binding attributes of the Spirit of God in this electronic family of God is more important than the adherence to this policy.

As a member, you should know and understand this policy well enough to clarify where we stand. It would be nice in some respects to expand the CCEG to include those potentially interested in the Church and from denominations associated with the Restoration or member relatives more distant than parents, siblings and children. But that is not the case and here is why:

Since much of what is communicated within the group is very personal, many CCEG members would be reluctant to share details of prayer needs knowing that such information would go to those not necessarily as concerned about confidentiality or those not necessarily sharing like faith as the presently outlined membership of the group. Many members of the Church of Christ would not even consider joining the CCEG if they thought their privacy was at stake. That does not mean any of us are proud, self-righteous or full of a "better-than-thou" attitude.

It is due to the foregoing reasons that the few CCEG rules exist. Suggestions such as the limitation of addressees in your outgoing e-mail, are made so member e-mail addresses might remain as confidential as possible. Let's be honest: with so-called security on the Internet and its e-mail activity being relatively sloppy, no one can guarantee complete privacy. As a CCEG member, you should be aware of that. But every effort we can make as a group to limit exposure to the world is important. This is why the pages at this site are password protected; it is why each CCEG member is asked not to divulge the ID and password to non-CCEG-members, even if they are members of the Church of Christ; it is why each other member's e-mail address and other personal information is to be kept confidential and to remain so under the honor of each CCEG member.
